The Columbus Wildcat middle school cross country program sent a pair of runners to the state meet in Marshalltown this fall. Led by Iowa Association of Track Coaches middle school coach of the year Holly Canny, Victor Bawi and Juan Chairez-Ambriz both competed on the big stage at state. Bawi, a seventh grader, finished in 60th place with a time of 12:31 and Chairez-Ambriz, an eighth grader, was 77th in 12:58.
