It’s said that the show must go on. Mid-Prairie and three other teams are moving ahead with kicking off the winter sports season on Monday with a boys basketball jamboree at Tim Grady Gymnasium in Wellman. The event has been scheduled for some time for November 23rd, but due to recent COVID-19 concerns and other scheduling dilemmas, the initial slate of teams has changed. The original group of teams included Clear Creek Amana, Pekin, West Branch, West Liberty, Williamsburg and the Golden Hawks with a 6p.m. start. The night will now feature four teams with West Branch meeting Williamsburg at 6p.m. and Mid-Prairie taking on Pekin in the night cap at 7p.m. The scrimmages will be one half in length and will not count toward the team’s record. Mid-Prairie administration has procedures in place to adhere to COVID-19 requirements issued by Governor Reynolds for the event.
