Today we look at the eighth biggest athletics story from this school year for Hillcrest Academy. In the summer of 2019, Iowa Mennonite School underwent a rebranding to become, Hillcrest Academy. The school assumed the new name to begin the 2019-2020 academic and athletic year.

In a reception in July, Celebration Hall on the campus of Hillcrest Academy was filled with faculty administration, alumni, students and community members to get their first look. Iowa Mennonite School is now called Hillcrest Academy, taking the namesake of the school’s gymnasium-auditorium facility that’s held the name Hillcrest Union since 1955. The school is now the home of the Ravens, and for the first time since the school opened in 1945, it has a mascot. Rebranding is one part of the school’s strategic initiative to expand enrollment. The school’s colors have remained maroon and black.
