The Keota Eagle boys basketball team made it a clean season sweep of the English Valleys Bears on Thursday with a 85-44 win to open the class 1A playoffs. Their third over the Bears this year. The Eagles left nothing to chance, jumping on the Bears early and not letting them up for air. Keota led 27-13 after one quarter and 46-27 at the half. The lead kept expanding after the break to 64-37 after three and the Eagles enacted the continuous clock by outscoring the Bears 21-7 in the final period. Four players found double figures for Keota led by JD Stout with 28 points. Carson Sprouse had 18 including five made threes, Luke Hammen 15 and Bryce Greiner 10 off the bench. With the win, Keota improves to 19-3 as they get ready for BGM in Tuesday’s second round playoff action.
