A road trip to Marengo ended in a split for the Keota basketball teams in a South Iowa Cedar League doubleheader with Iowa Valley on Tuesday.

The boys brought the defensive intensity, as they gave up just two points in the first and led 29-12 at the break. The Tigers never scored more than 10 points in a period and the Eagles pulled away with a 57-31 win and season sweep of Iowa Valley. JD Stout put up 27 points on 11 of 16 shooting and Brady Duwa had 16. Luke Hammen hauled in 10 rebounds and Carson Sprouse dished out eight assists.

The Eagle girls scored six points in the first, but only mustered up one field goal the rest of the way and the Tigers rolled to a 57-9 win. The boys improve to 14-3 while the girls are now 2-16. Both teams travel to Sigourney tomorrow.
