lone-tree-3

Coming off losses to BGM last week, the Lone Tree basketball teams got back in the win column Tuesday night in a pair of close ones at home against Louisa-Muscatine.

The Lion girls got revenge from their first meeting against the Falcons with a 49-48 win. It was close throughout with the Falcons holding a slight 18-17 lead at half and 34-32 at the end of three, but the duo of Holley Johnson and Madeline Jacque helped the Lions get over the top. The pair combined for 31 of their 49 points with Johnson recording 16 including four triples and Jacque having 15.

The Lone Tree boys got up big before a Louisa-Muscatine comeback made it interesting in the end with the Lions hanging on for an 82-76 victory. The lead was 13 at the break and 15 heading to the fourth before the Falcons’ surge fell short. Keegan Edwards was unconscious from deep connecting on 10 of 15 three-point field goals to finish with a game-high 33 points. Cale Yoder was productive with 17 points, 11 rebounds, and four assists while Harmon Miller added 12 points.

The girls improve to 9-6 and the boys are 10-4. Both teams are back at it tomorrow at Mediapolis.
