After recovering from injuries that encompassed 95% of her body, a female red fox has joined the Oakland Mills Nature Center. The Henry County Conservation Department says the fox was burned in a field fire at 2.5 months of age and has since had extensive rehabilitation. She is unable to be returned to the wild. Naturalist Cari Nicely tells KCII News that the red fox is in need of financial sponsors. The fox display is open to the public from dawn to dusk 365 days a year at the nature center.
There is no monetary minimum to be listed as a sponsor, and all will be listed on newsletters and on signs at the display. For more information, contact Cari Nicely, Henry County Naturalist, at 319-986-5067.
