The final crop progress and condition report for October shows Iowa’s farmers harvested soybeans and corn, spread manure, applied anhydrous, and baled corn stalks last week. Iowa’s corn is about two weeks behind average with 95% reaching maturity. In southeast Iowa, 44% of corn has been harvested, ahead of the state’s rate of 26%. Iowa’s corn is rated at 12% excellent, 55% good, 25% fair, and 8% poor to very poor. Across the state, 66% of soybeans have been harvested and southeast Iowa trails a bit with 52% harvested so far.
