It doesn’t get  much better than Winfield-Mt. Union and WACO to put a cherry on top of the high school football season, and that rivalry is just what we get in week nine tonight in Winfield. The Wolves come into the game with an overall record of 1-7 after a 48-20 loss at HLV last week. The Wolves were led by Daunte Oepping with 329 all-purpose yards and three touchdowns, including 231 yards through the air. On the season, the Wolves passing game is led by Oepping at 77 of 140 for 1,137 yards, 13 touchdowns and five interceptions. His favorite target is Jacob Ford with 28 catches for 534 yards and three touchdowns. On the ground Oepping is also the leader with 946 yards and 16 touchdowns on 175 carries. The Wolves defense is spearheaded by Jaunito Piper with 87 and a half tackles including four for loss.

WACO comes into the game with an overall record of 3-5. Last week they fell to Lone Tree 36-20. Nik Coble led the way with 253 all-purpose yards and three touchdowns. On the season, Coble leads the Warrior passing game at 127 for 242 for 2,094 yards, 21 touchdowns and five interceptions. His favorite target is Jaden Williams with 49 catches for 886 yards and seven touchdowns. On the ground it’s also Coble that leads the way with 781 yards on 125 carries and 24 touchdowns. Braden Hammond leads the WACO defense with 87 tackles including one for loss. These two teams met a year ago with Warriors taking a 50-6 win.
