The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk volleyball team is back on the court in West Liberty tonight for the opening round of the River Valley Conference tournament. The Golden Hawks come into the event with an overall record of 6-17. They were beaten in five matches Saturday at the Clear Creek Amana tournament. For the season, Mid-Prairie is led by Tori Boyse with 91 kills. Landry Pacha has 183 assists, eighth in the River Valley. Amber Swart leads the Golden Hawk defense with 110 digs.

The host Comets come into the night with an overall record of 20-7. They traveled to Cedar Rapids Jefferson over the weekend where they dropped three matches to Dike New Hartford, Dubuque Hempstead and Ankeny Centennial. West Liberty is currently ranked No. 2 in class 3A in the latest poll from the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union. For the season, the Comets are led by Macy Daufeldt with 308 kills, best in the River Valley. Morgan Peterson has the team lead with 615 assists, 10th best in Iowa. Monica Morales leads the West Liberty defense with 271 digs. The Comets swept the Golden Hawks in a regular season match a week ago.

Anamosa comes into the night with an overall record of 15-9. The Blue Raiders were last on the court Thursday when they beat Durant in five sets. On the season Anamosa is led by Maggie McQuillen with 179 kills, seventh in the River Valley North. She also has the team lead with 129 digs. Kylie Chapman leads the Raiders with 293 assists, fifth in the RVC. The Raiders did not face the Golden Hawks during the regular season.

Bellevue comes in with an overall record of 15-14. In their last match they beat Mid-Prairie in four games on Thursday. For the season, the Comets are led by Lindsey Banowetz with 190 kills, third most in the RVC north. Brin Daugherty has the team lead with 493 assists, fourth in the RVC. Paige Klein leads the Comet defense with 224 digs, seventh most in the north.

Action begins tonight at 5p.m. at West Liberty High School.
