
A man wanted on eight different warrants was found in Riverside early Tuesday morning. According to the Washington County Communications Office, at 3:16 a.m. a sheriff’s deputy was out with subjects at a gas station in Riverside. One person was wanted. Johnson County and two additional Washington County Sheriff’s deputies assisted at the scene. They arrested 34-year-old Jacob Eugene Hansel of Martelle, Iowa. He was wanted on a North Liberty warrant for assault while displaying a dangerous weapon, driving while barred, and criminal mischief in the second degree. Bond for those charges was set at $1,100 cash or surety.
Hansel was also wanted on seven Jones County warrants for multiple charges including intimidation with a dangerous weapon, control of a firearm or offensive weapon by a felon, three assault charges, failure to appear twice, driving while barred, eluding, failure to have insurance, failure to obey a traffic control device, and operating a non-registered vehicle. Bonds totaled $11,400. Additional charges are pending DCI lab results. Hansel was transported by Johnson County officials on their warrant.
