Area students looking to go to college soon are invited to a free program about federal financial aid. The Kirkwood Washington Regional Center is holding an event with the Iowa College Access Network (ICAN Center). Center Director Tera Pickens says it’s a good event for high school seniors and juniors, and their parents, “Even though this presentation is going to be held in the Kirkwood Regional Center, it’s for students that plan to go to Kirkwood or any college or university, or even those students that they would likely attend college after high school graduation but they maybe haven’t yet pinpointed where exactly that might be. So a great event for any high school junior or senior to attend regardless of where they’re going after high school.”

Pickens adds that it can be helpful for families who have never completed the FAFSA before, as well as those who have because life changes can impact how the forms are filled out. The program will be Monday, September 30th at 6 p.m. at the Regional Center.
