The City of Kalona is being recognized for the work that went into constructing the new community center.

Kalona is receiving an “All-Star Community” award from the Iowa League of Cities for how the city engaged with community members during the project. Kalona will be on the front cover of the upcoming Cityscape Magazine, along with an article written about how the city engaged community members throughout the process of building the $4 million facility. City Administrator Ryan Schlabaugh, along with members of the city council, will receive the award in Dubuque at the annual Iowa League of Cities meeting September 26th.
