Despite recently dry weather, Iowa has no drought conditions. According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the most recent week with drought conditions in the state was at the end of October 2018 with 1.5% abnormally dry. At this time last year, 19.3% of the state was abnormally dry, 9.3% was in moderate drought, and 2.4% of Iowa was in severe drought. Overall, the Midwest is experiencing just a few patches of abnormally dry conditions, and those can be found in northern Minnesota, northern Wisconsin, and the upper peninsula of Michigan.
