Two KCII area softball teams met up in Riverside on Tuesday and Highland came out on top against Sigourney 4-2.

The Huskies scored all four of their runs in the first headlined by a pair of RBI from Abbie Miller. The Savages scratched across runs in the fourth and the fifth but could never get any closer. Megan Hoenig went seven strong in the circle for the Huskies giving up seven hits without an earned run. Dani Laughlin went 3-for-3 in the leadoff spot with one run scored. Kaylee Weber led Sigourney going 2-for-3 with one run and Jordan VanEe gave up three earned runs on eight hits in the circle.

Highland closes the regular season 17-8 and they open the playoffs Wednesday hosting Van Buren. Sigourney is 16-13 and they face off with Keota in the first round on Monday.
