washington-baseball-2-2

Another strong pitching performance propelled the Washington baseball team over Eddyville-Blakesburg 4-2 Friday in a non-conference matchup.

The Rockets struck first in the second with two runs and the Demons cut the lead in half in the bottom of the inning. That score held true until the fifth when Washington put up a three spot headlined by a RBI single from Luke Turner that gave the Demons a lead they would not relinquish. Lucas Kroll, Ethan Patterson, and Mitchell Driscoll combined to only give up two hits on the bump. Driscoll picked up the win going four scoreless innings of no hits and one walk. Ethan Patterson went 2-for-3 to lead the offense that managed seven hits.

Washington moves to 7-2 and travel to Fort Madison on Tuesday.
