Drake University’s blue oval will host many area high school athletes this week. The annual Drake Relays runs Wednesday through Saturday with high school and adult athletes. Washington High School’s 4×100 relay for both boys and girls qualified, along with Ethan Hunt in the 400 meter hurdles. Mid-Prairie will have Marie Hostetler in the 1500 and 3000 meter races. The Golden Hawks also had both the boys and girls qualify for the 4×100 relay. Highland’s Emily Yahnke will compete in the long jump. Sigourney will have Payton Schauf throwing in the discus competition. Winfield-Mt. Union’s boys 4×100 relay team qualified. And Sigourney’s Summer Barthelman will compete in the 400 meter and the 400 hurdles.
