
The Washington, Winfield-Mt. Union, and WACO girls’ track teams competed at Mount Pleasant Tuesday night for the Panther Relays.
WACO had the top area finish in 12th out of 21 teams with 40.5 points while Pekin won it all with 133.5. Molly McLaughlin posted a first place finish in the 100m hurdles with a time of 18.14 seconds and she was also apart of the victorious shuttle hurdle relay team (1:15.15). Grace Conwell was solid in the 400m hurdles placing second (1:14.65). Winfield-Mt. Union tallied 35 points for a 16thplace finish and Washington was 18thwith 16 points. The Wolves had fourth place events from Jenna Buffington in the 400m (1:09.23), Avery Maeder in the 200m (29.92), and Whitney Vantiger in the 400m hurdles (1:19.63). Washington’s Isabel Bailey had a third place finish in the long jump (16’2.25’’) and Ashley Telleen placed fourth in the 400m hurdles (1:12.55).
WMU hosts their own meet today along with WACO and Washington will host a girls only meet.
