
Several KCII area girls track teams participated at the Lone Tree Track Invitational Monday.
On the girls side of the meet, Highland took home the team title with their score of 117 points. The Huskies had three championship events on the night with Kaylee Rath winning the shot put at 31′. The Highland 4×100 team of Sarah Schneider, Aly Stokes, Kristy Thomann and Emily Yahnke was a winner in 52.26 seconds. That same team won the 4×200 in a time of 1:53.14. Other top finishes for Highland included Emily Yahnke second in the 100, Aly Stokes second in the 200, Madison Thomann runner-up in the 1500, second for the 4×800 team of Taylor Sublette, Fiona Mahler, Alyssa Clarke and Madison Thomann, second for the shuttle hurdle team of Grace Huffman, Madeline Peiffer, Fiona Debur and Jalyn Brown. Fiona Mahler was third in the 1500.
WACO was third with 87 points. The Warriors had a pair of championship events with the sprint medley team of Kaylee Shelman, Morgan and Laney Graber and Grace Conwell taking the title in 2:06.92. The shuttle hurdle team also won the title in 1:16.43 with a team of Laney Graber, Taylor Sammons, Grace Conwell and Molly McLaughlin. Other top finishes for the Warriors included second for Grace Conwell in the 400 hurdles, second for Morgan Graber in the high jump, runner-up for Kristin Conley in the shot put, and second for the 4×100 and 4×200 team of Olivia Leichty, Kaylee Shelman, Laney Graber and Ashley Hallett. Quinn Scaff was third in the shot put.
Lone Tree was fourth with 85 points. The Lions had two championship events on the night with Holley Johnson winning the 100 hurdles in 17.33 seconds and Kasey Chown winning the high jump clearing 4’8″. Other top finishes for the Lions included second for the distance medley team of Lexi Norris, Josie Mullinix, Kasey Chown and Natalie Patterson. Third for Natalie Patterson in 800, third for Macie Bopp in the 3000, third for Chloe Jacque in the high jump, third for the 4×100 team of Holley Johnson, Lexi Norris, Natalie Patterson and Kasey Chown, third for the shuttle hurdle team of Skylar Smith, Maddie Jacque, Elizabeth Fuller and Arlie Lorack.
Iowa Mennonite was seventh with 31 points. IMS had three event titles on the night all coming from Suzanna Yoder as she took the 100 in 12.93 seconds, the 200 in 27.33 seconds and the 400 in 1:02.17.
Columbus was eighth with 14 points. Top finishes for the Wildcats included the 4×200 team of Michelle Martinez, Odalyz Valdez, Olivia Carrier and Angie Byas and third for the sprint medley team of Michelle Martinez, Ingrid Montero, Angie Byas and Olivia Carrier.
Keota finished in ninth place with six points.
