
While a blizzard hit the western portion of Iowa, strong winds howled in the KCII listening area. The National Weather Service issued a wind advisory for Washington, Iowa, Keokuk, Jefferson and Henry Counties Sunday. Also, a high wind warning was issued for Louisa and Johnson Counties. At the Washington Municipal Airport wind speeds reached 54 miles per hour at 2:55 a.m. Sunday. The wind continued throughout the day with gusts over 30 miles per hour most of the morning.
