These games have been postponed till January 31st due to weather.

The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk basketball boys and girls basketball teams will be in action for the second straight day when they travel to Monticello Saturday for a River Valley Conference doubleheader with the Panthers.

The Golden Hawk girls come into the game with an overall record of 9-5 after a 38-35 loss in overtime to West Liberty Friday. Shae Becker led the Golden Hawks with 11 points. On the season Becker paces Mid-Prairie with 14 points per game, fifth in the River Valley Conference. She’s also the leading rebounder for the Hawks with 92 total boards for the year seventh in the RVC. Kessa Jones has the team lead with 32 assists fifth in the conference.

Monticello comes into the contest with an overall mark of 9-5. The Panthers played Friday and were beaten by Bellevue 49-42. For the season the Panthers are led by Jordan Kuper at 14 points per game fourth in the River Valley Conference. Kuper also paces the Panthers with 86 rebounds, fifth in the RVC. Tori McDonald leads Monticello with 45 assists, third in the league. These two teams met a year ago with Monticello taking a 71-52 win.

The Mid-Prairie boys come into the night with an overall record of 7-6 following a 78-61 win over West Liberty Friday night where Tom Butters led the way with 30 points and 16 rebounds. For the season Butters and Cale Robertson are tied for the team lead scoring 14 points per game, eighth in the River Valley Conference. Brad Tornow lead the Golden Hawks and is seventh in class 2A with 74 assists. Butters leads class 2A in rebounding with 159 boards.

Monticello is 9-3 on the season. In their last recorded action they fell at Camanche 65-55. Justin Recker leads the Panthers scoring 18 points per game, second in the River Valley Conference. Recker also has the team lead and is fourth in the conference with 90 rebounds. Luke Lambert has the team lead with 47 assists, fourth in the RVC. These two teams met a year ago with Mid-Prairie taking a 50-44 win.
