The first 10 days of December have been colder than normal in Washington.

According to the National Weather Service, the normal average maximum temperature is 37.7 degrees and this year it has been observed at 32.9 degrees. The average temperature has been one degree below normal at 27.1 degrees. With cold temperatures and winter weather here, Washington County Emergency Management Coordinator Marissa Reisen says there are certain supplies you should keep in your car in the event of an emergency. She says to keep a warm blanket, bottled water, some snacks, and a charger for your phone so that you have away to communicate if you get stuck somewhere. Listen to KCII for weather updates.
