Friday is the last day to enroll or change your healthcare coverage for 2019.
If you were enrolled in a healthcare plan for 2018, your plan will automatically renew itself for next year. Most Iowans access healthcare through either their employers, public programs, or purchase it individually. Iowa Insurance Commissioner Doug Ommen says even if you feel good with your current plan, everybody should review their options, “We recommend that in the current market everybody should consider speaking to an insurance professional about trying to find plans that covers their family’s needs.” While this process can seem overwhelming, Ommen adds that there are plenty of resources to help at healthcare.gov. What’s the penalty on taxes if you don’t have health insurance? Add a sentence about that at the end.
