Anyone is welcome to a free Christmas dinner in Washington. The Church of God and the First Assembly of God are partnering up this year to host the free meal. Pastor Dave Watson invites everyone to attend either individually or with their family, “One of the biggest things that we have seen in years past is that people have, maybe their families are far away, or maybe they’re retirees, or just find themselves alone for Christmas Day and we don’t want them to do that. So we want to offer this Christmas meal to everybody in the City of Washington and the surrounding area to come and just enjoy a fun environment, a Christmas Day meal with all the trimmings, turkey, ham, all the good stuff there. So it’s a fantastic time. We’re really hoping we can get as many people out there because we don’t want anyone to be alone for the holidays.”
Meals will also be available for delivery in the City of Washington. To reserve a meal or to volunteer contact the church at 653-3749. The free meal is open from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the First Assembly of God at 1602 E Washington Street.
