The Keota Eagle boys and girls basketball teams made their trek to North English Tuesday a business trip, sweeping away the English Valleys Bears in a South Iowa Cedar League doubleheader.

The Eagle girls were a 39-36 winner. The Keota girls are now 2-3 on the year.

The Keota boys put a running clock on the Bears, taking the win by a 76-35 count. The Eagles jumped on top early and didn’t let the Bears off the mat, leading 21-9 after the first quarter and 44-17 at the half. Keota kept the pressure on outscoring EV 23-8 in the third quarter to put the game out of reach. JD Stout led the way for Keota, the junior put up 27 points in the win. With the win, Keota improves to 3-1 on the season.
