The Highland and Keota girls’ basketball teams faced off in a KCII-area match-up to open up their seasons last night, with Highland taking the win 57-47.

Momentum was on the Eagles’ side for most of that one, outscoring the Huskies in each of the first three quarters.  But Highland, led by 22 and 18-point efforts from Aly Stokes and Abbie Miller, routed the Eagles 20-3 in the fourth quarter and ended up taking the ten-point win.

With this outcome, Keota starts its season at 0-1 and Highland at 1-0.  Each of these teams will play in KCII-area match-ups again on Tuesday, with Keota hosting Iowa Mennonite and Highland hosting Lone Tree.
