After a big week and a big win the by the University of Northern Iowa Panther football team, former Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk Austin Errthum received an award from the Missouri Valley Conference.

Errthum was named the Valley Special Teams player of the week after the Panther’s 26-16 victory over No. 13 Illinois State Saturday. Errthum was dialed in, connecting on all four of his field goal attempts and both PATs. Errthum’s strikes came from 30, 30, 27 and 43 yards. He also knocked every kickoff but one through the back of the end zone. Errthum is tops in the Valley with 14 made goals on the season and has the league’s best make percentage at 82.4%. He also leads the Valley in kickoff average, net per kick and touchbacks. The Panthers travel to Youngstown State to battle the Penguins Saturday.
