After a week off, the Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk volleyball team returns to action Thursday when they travel to North Cedar to take on the Knights.

The Golden Hawks come into the match with a 4-4 overall record, having dropped four matches in a row, the most recent, a sweep at the hands of the Wilton Beavers. On the year, the Golden Hawks are led by Myah Lugar with 43 kills. Caitlyn Riggan is eighth in the River Valley Conference and best on the team with 104 assists. Cassidy Hershberger leads the Mid-Prairie defense with 90 digs.

North Cedar comes into the match with a 14-7 overall record. Last time out they fell to Anamosa in four sets on the road Tuesday. Sydney Dennis is best on the team and 10th in the River Valley Conference with 93 kills. Kayla Sander leads the Knights and is third in the RVC with 306 assists. The North Cedar defense is led by Katie Thompson with 243 digs, most in the RVC, Dennis is second on the team and the RVC with 204.

These two teams last met twice in 2015 with the Knights earning sweeps on both occasions. Action begins tonight at 7:30 at North Cedar High School in Stanwood.
