The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk volleyball team has started the season on a roll, winning their first five matches.

The Hawks have scored wins over English Valleys, Keota, Highland and Washington en route to the unbeaten start. On the year, Mid-Prairie is led by sophomore Myah Lugar with 30 kills, ninth most in the River Valley Conference. Junior Caitlyn Riggan has the team lead and is sixth in the conference with 76 assists. Defensively, Cassidy Hershberger leads the Golden Hawks and is second in the RVC with 48 digs.

The Durant Wildcats enter the match at 1-0 with a win over Riverdale on August 21st. In that match the Wildcats were led by Aubrin Dittmer with 10 kills, Ruby Kappeler with 22 assists and Hannah Happ with 16 digs. These two teams opened the conference season against each other last year with the Wildcats sweeping the Golden Hawks in Wellman.

Action begins tonight at 7:15 at Durant High School.
