Unemployment in Iowa is at an 18-year low according to Iowa Workforce Development.

The state’s seasonably adjusted rate dropped to 2.6 percent in July. Most of the growth was attributed to the manufacturing industry, which grew by 1,800 jobs, although retail continues to slide with statewide closures, with 3,000 employees having to find new work. The latest data for Washington County shows a 2.2% unemployment rate, with approximately 12,000 people working.
