Several search warrants were executed in southeast Iowa for the possession and distribution of a controlled substance Thursday.

According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office illicit drugs, drug paraphernalia, and an undetermined amount of currency was seized as a result of the search warrants. No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing. Law enforcement agencies involved in the execution of the search warrants and the ongoing investigation include: Fairfield, Ottumwa, and Mount Pleasant Police Departments; Wapello, Keokuk, Henry, Washington, and Monroe County Sheriff’s Offices; Southeast Iowa Inner-Agency Drug Task Force, Iowa State Patrol, Department of Natural Resources, Department of Criminal Investigation, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
