Kole Hinrichsen lit up the strike zone in his junior campaign, finishing with a conference-high 71 strikeouts throughout the season.

He led the way throughout conference play as well with 30, but it’s his entire season totals that stand out most in comparison with the rest of the conference.  Looking at the next couple of pitchers down in the strikeout category, Keokuk’s Jake Jones and Mt. Pleasant’s Jordan Magnani came in second and third with 50 and 48, respectively, and both of them took more innings to hit their numbers than Hinrichsen did.

On top of that, Hinrichsen was the only unbeaten pitcher in the conference with five or more starts.  He finished with a 6-0 record on the season, going 2-0 in conference play.

For his efforts, Hinrichsen was named to the second all-conference team.  He’ll be back next year for his senior season.
