Movies on Main Street concludes this summer with a recent Oscar-winning animated film.
The third and final film to be shown in downtown Washington this Friday is the 2017 Disney Pixar film “Coco.” The movie follows a 12-year-old boy named Miguel who is accidentally transported to the Land of the Dead, where he seeks the help of his deceased musician great-great-grandfather to return him to his family among the living. Main Street Washington Director Sarah Grunewaldt invites everyone to enjoy the movie, “We’ll have free popcorn from the I-Smile program again this summer, which is really fun and exciting, but we’ll also have boxed candy and drinks for purchase, again it benefits Main Street. Bring a lawn chair, bring a blanket. Dress for the weather, sometimes it gets a little chilly after dark, but we turn the park lights off and the screen is right on the bandstand with the great sound system, and pretty much anywhere you sit you’ve got a good seat to see the movie.”
The movie is free to attend in the Washington downtown square this Friday. The concession stand opens at 8 p.m. and movie begins at 8:30 p.m. All proceeds benefit Main Street Washington.
