The L.E.T.’s Center for the Healing and Creative Arts is gearing up for their annual Totally Tubular Auction coming up Saturday at noon in Central Park in Washington.

This is the fourth year for the event. The goal is to turn recycled water softener tubes into works of art using paint, beads, feathers, glass and other creative mediums. The tubes are currently on display in local businesses as part of the Washington Chamber of Commerce’s Gallery Art Walk. Isabella Santoro with the L.E.T.’s Center described the people who participate in the event. “One of the things I love about this project is you don’t have to be an artist to do it. We have a lot of people who have never painted before, or wouldn’t call themselves crafty that decide to give this a go.”

Proceeds from the auction benefit LET’s and Latinos for Washington Inc. In its first three years the auction has raised more than $5,000.
