The Iowa Mennonite baseball team was cooled off in Mediapolis Wednesday by the Bulldogs, suffering a 7-1 and 4-1 sweep.

IMS entered action having won six-in-a-row. In the first contest, IMS was held to just five hits. Mediapolis scored once in the first, three times in the second, once in the fifth and twice in the sixth to secure the win. Blake Bontrager took the loss, going six innings, giving up five hits, seven runs, walking five and striking out one.

In game two heard on KCII, Mediapolis scored once in the bottom of the first and IMS tied the game with a run of their own in the second when Blake Bontrager drove in Tanner Thrapp on the only IMS hit of the game. MEPO scored a pair in the second against IMS pitcher Drew Blauvelt and added one more insurance run in the sixth. IMS put two on with no one out in the sixth and loaded the bases in the seventh but could not break through. Blauvelt took the loss for IMS, his first of the year, going six innings, giving up eight hits, four runs and walking seven. IMS is now 12-8 on the year as they travel to Columbus Thursday.
