The Mid-Prairie softball team dropped their seventh straight game on Monday, as the Bellevue Comets came to Kalona and grabbed a 5-2 win.
Bellevue got on the board first with a pair of runs in the second. The Golden Hawks broke through in the fourth when Kendra Schaefer drove in Anna Vilovchik to cut the Comets lead in half. Bellevue responded with a three run fifth inning to go up 5-1. The Hawks would get one more when Hayley Yoder’s single brought in Shelby Zahradnek in the sixth to get within 5-2. Mid-Prairie out hit Bellevue 10-8 in the game. Vilovchik, Georgia Nisly, Schaefer and Yoder each had a pair of hits. Cassidy Rourke took the loss going all seven innings. Mid-Prairie is now 3-16 on the year.
