The Mid-Prairie baseball and softball teams are back home Monday to take on the Bellevue Comets in River Valley Conference play.
The Golden Hawk baseball team enters play with an overall record of 7-9. They fell at Busch Stadium in St. Louis Saturday to the Washington Demons in their latest game 9-4. On the season Mid-Prairie is hitting .219, led by Brad Tornow and his .289 average. The Hawks have a team ERA of 3.89, also led by Tornow with his 2.12 ERA and 3-3 record.
Bellevue comes into tonight’s game with an overall record of 3-9. They lost 12-2 to Cascade in their last game Tuesday. On the season the Comets are hitting .244, led by Brandon Kafer with a .464 average. On the mound Bellevue has a 10.13 team ERA, led by Riley Konrardy with a 1-3 record and 6.41 ERA. These two teams met a year ago with Bellevue scoring a 4-1 win.
The Mid-Prairie softball team enters action tonight with an overall record of 3-15. Last time out the Hawks were swept by Fairfield Wednesday 10-0 and 13-1. On the year Mid-Prairie is hitting .301 at the plate, led by Rylee Vercande hitting .429. In the circle the Hawks have a team ERA of 3.53, led by Cassidy Rourke with a 3-9 record and 2.81 ERA in 67 innings.
Bellevue comes into the contest with an overall record of 10-6. The Comets hosted their home tournament Saturday and won two out of three games, beating Easton Valley 9-5 and Bellevue Marquette Catholic 8-3 before falling to Western Dubuque Epworth 2-0. On the season the Comets are hitting .294, led by Rebecca Schroeder hitting .471. In the circle Bellevue has a 4.01 team ERA led by Grace Tath with a 9-5 record in 88 innings of work with a 3.24 ERA. These two teams met a year ago with Mid-Prairie scoring a 7-5 win.
