The Mid-Prairie baseball and softball teams are back in action Thursday when they each host the Camanche Indians.
The Golden Hawk baseball team is 6-9 on the season after a split against the Durant Wildcats on Tuesday. Mid-Prairie lost game one 7-5 in nine innings before rebounding to take the nightcap 11-6. On the season, the Golden Hawks are hitting .216, led by Collin Gingerich and Brad Tornow each hitting .268. On the mound, Mid-Prairie has a 3.56 team ERA led by Tornow with a 1.77 ERA in 27 innings with a 3-2 overall record.
Camanche comes into tonight with an overall record of 5-7. They were beaten Tuesday by Easton Valley 12-8. On the season the Indians are hitting .238, led by Jake Drury with a .296 average. On the mound the Indians have a team ERA of 3.55, led by PJ Pucket with a 1-1 record and 1.14 ERA in 12 innings of work. These two teams met a season ago with Mid-Prairie taking a 7-5 win.
The Golden Hawk softball team enters tonight with an overall record of 3-13. Last time out the Golden Hawks were swept by Fairfield Wednesday 10-0 and 13-1. On the season, Mid-Prairie is hitting .301 as a team, led by Rylee Vercande and her .429 average. In the circle Mid-Prairie has a 3.53 team ERA, led by Cassidy Rourke with a 2.81 ERA and 3-9 record in 67 innings of work.
Camanche comes into tonight with an overall record of 14-4. Last time out they swept a doubleheader from Davenport Central 12-2 and 16-6. On the season the Indians are hitting .371, led by Madi Parson with a .534 batting average. In the circle the Indians have a team ERA of 2.58, led by Abby Stock with a 6-2 record in 51 innings of work and a 2.05 ERA. Last year Camanche won this match up by a 10-0 score.
