The Mid-Prairie baseball and softball teams hit the road Monday for a pair of River Valley Conference doubleheaders with the Tipton Tigers.

The Mid-Prairie baseball team is 5-2 coming into tonight. In their last game the Hawks were beaten by Center Point-Urbana 5-0. On the season they are hitting .278, led by Cale Robertson and his .455 average. On the mound, Mid-Prairie has a 1.65 team ERA, led by Brad Tornow with a zero ERA and three wins.

Tipton is 3-0 on the year, beating Bellevue 6-3 in their last action Thursday. On the season the Tigers are hitting .351 at the plate, led by Trent Pelzer and his .444 average. On the mound the Tigers have a 2.00 team ERA, led by Luke Becker with a 2-0 record and 2.33 ERA. These two teams split a doubleheader last year with Tipton winning 11-7 and Mid-Prairie taking game two 13-8.

The Mid-Prairie softball team enters tonight with an overall record of 1-7 on the year after dropping a pair of games Saturday at the University of Iowa Tournament. The Golden Hawks are hitting .295 as a team, led by Rylee Vercande and her .440 average. In the circle the Hawks have a 4.99 ERA led by Cassidy Rourke with a 4.17 ERA and 1-6 record in 40 innings of work.

The Tigers are 1-4 on the year, losing to Bellevue Thursday 7-0. On the season Tipton is hitting .263, led by Ashley Mente and her .545 average. In the circle the Tigers have a team ERA of 8.11 led by Morgan Wendel with an 0-2 record and 7.47 ERA. These two teams met twice a year ago with Mid-Prairie sweeping the games 11-1 and 10-9.

Action for both the boys and girls begins at 5:30 at Tipton Middle School.
