The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk softball team traveled to the Iowa City West Tournament on the campus of the University of Iowa over the weekend for a pair of matchups.
Mid-Prairie fell in game one 5-1 to Davenport West. The Hawks were led by Kylee Kos with her two for three game at the plate, Rylee Vercande had a hit and a run scored. Cassidy Rourke took the loss in the circle going five innings, allowing four hits, five runs, walking four and striking out five.
In game two North Scott beat Mid-Prairie 8-2. Cassidy Rourke took the loss in the circle for the Hawks, going three innings, surrendering six hits, seven runs, two walks and striking out a pair. At the plate Mid-Prairie was led by Vercande, Anna Vilovchik, Jaselyn Robertson, Kos and Karsen Jehle each with one hit. Jehle and Vercande had RBI for Mid-Prairie. With the two losses the Hawks are now 1-7 on the season. They travel to Tipton Monday for a River Valley Conference doubleheader.
