The Iowa Mennonite baseball team traveled to Pekin Friday for a Superconference match up with the Panthers.
Pekin scored the win 7-6. IMS got on the board first with a single run in their first at bat. Pekin found the answer in the bottom of the second scoring seven times. That would be the only offense of the night for the Panthers. IMS chipped away to get back in the game, scoring four times in the third and once in the fourth but it wasn’t enough. London Schrock went two for three with a homer, RBI and two runs scored to lead IMS at the plate. Trevor Leyden took the loss on the hill for IMS, going an inning and a third, giving up eight hits, seven runs, walking one and striking out one. With the loss, IMS falls to 0-2 on the year they host Wapello Monday.
