The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk girls golf team was looking for a state tournament bid Monday at the class 2A regional final tournament in Oskaloosa.

The Hawks came up short on the team side, firing an overall score of 408, placing fourth of the four teams. Van Meter won the tournament with a 360. Paige Slabaugh led Mid-Prairie and qualified for the 2A state tournament individually with an 84, placing third overall. Other scores for the Golden Hawks included Abbi Patterson at 103, Abigail Statler 110, Georgia Nisly 111, Emma Mattes 112 and Kendra Schaefer 116. Slabaugh will participate in the class 2A tournament May 29th and 30th at Lake Panorama National Golf Course in Panora.
