The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk girls golf team has a chance to advance to state Monday as they travel to Oskaloosa for the class 2A regional final.
The Golden Hawks advanced through round one as runners-up at Wapello, firing a team score of 385, led by Paige Slabaugh and her regional championship round of 82. The Golden Hawks come into today’s tournament ranked No. 12 in the state in the latest poll from the Iowa High School Golf Coaches Association. Slabaugh leads Mid-Prairie with a 96 scoring average, and is ranked No. 16 in the state. Abbi Patterson is ranked No. 56 and Georgia Nisly is ranked No. 59.
Others joining the Hawks in Oskaloosa today include Williamsburg, No. 2 Van Meter, Prairie City Monroe and individuals from Colfax-Mingo, Albia, Mediapolis, Iowa City Regina and Louisa-Muscatine.
