Pay applications were given for construction of the new Kalona Community Center at the recent city council meeting.
Pay applications were given to Schumacher Elevator Company, Summit Fire Protection, Ace Electric, and Bushong Construction. City Administrator Ryan Schlabaugh gives an update on the facility’s progress, “We’re still looking at an August 10th/August 13th date to where the building would be turned over to the city, which is good. They’re currently in finishing up the rough ins for plumbing and starting to hang the duct work for the roof mount heating and cooling units, Kuenster Heating and Air. Ace Electric is finishing up the rough ins for the ceiling lights, the lights that will hang down over the track and gym.”
Schlabaugh adds Bushong Construction is finishing putting up the interior drywall, railings for the stairwell and mezzanine are coming in this week, and all the windows should be installed this week or next.
