Three area girls track teams were in action at Roth Field in Wayland Tuesday for the WACO girls relays.

The Winfield-Mt. Union girls had the top area finish, placing third of six teams with 77 points. Mediapolis won the meet with 95 points. The Wolves had three championships on the night with Cecilia Hemsworth taking the 800 in 2:37.94, Avery Maeder won the 200 in 28.43 seconds and the 400 hurdles went to Kyndal Townsley in a time of 1:20.39. Other top finishes for the Wolves included second for Isabella Mertens in the 3000 and third in the 1500, Townsley second in the 100 hurdles, the 4×100 team and distance medley were second. Anna Hudson was third in the shot put, Allie McArtor third in the 400 hurdles, and the sprint medley and 4×400 teams were third.

WACO finished fourth at their home meet with 47 points. The Warriors had three championships on the night including Liona Farrier winning the discus with a throw of 89’8″. Molly McLaughlin took the 100 hurdles in 17.08 seconds and the WACO shuttle hurdle team brought home gold with a time of 1:12.91. Other top finishes for the Warriors included a second place for the sprint medley and 4×200 teams. McLaughlin was third in the 200 and the 4×100 team took third.

Highland finished in a tie for fourth place with WACO, also ending with 47 points. Top finishes for the Huskies included Taylor Sublette second in the 800, Ally Stokes second in the 400 and third in the long jump, Kaylee Rath second in the discus, and runner-up for the 4×800 team. Alli Brand was third in the 3000, Bailey Harmston third in the high jump and third for the 4×200 team.
