The Riverside Area Community Club is stepping up to the plate this Friday for the opening day of their summer movie series.

Organizer Kevin Meller shares which baseball-themed movie will be screened, “We’re showing Angels in the Outfield on Friday night at dusk. The ball association is having their opening ceremony in town, so we’re going to have most of the kids in town that are playing town ball, [they] will be there anyway. So we thought it would be an appropriate time to test out the new speakers, and put up a movie screen, and show a movie, so we thought that Angels in the Outfield would be perfect.”

This is the first of five free movie screenings at Hall Park this summer. RACC is also having a free summer concert series, the first concert coinciding with a movie on June 2. The movie series received a $5,000 hotel/motel grant, and follows sound and technical improvements at Hall Park that was funded in part by a $34,312 grant from the Washington County Riverboat Foundation.
