Using farm to market funds Washington County is going to be improving six roads this summer.
At Tuesday’s Washington County Board of Supervisors meeting, a bid was awarded for patching work on various farm to market routes throughout the county. Washington County Engineer Jacob Thorius said their estimate for the work was $257,000 and five bids were received, the lowest was Cedar Falls Construction Company, Inc. for $221,942.60. The highest bid was $340,178.51.
Work will be done on the Germanville Road, Wayland Road, Old Highway 92 west of Washington, Prairie Flower Road, Lexington Boulevard, and 12th Street north out of Washington. Thorius said with the savings they’ll be able to work on other projects sooner. Work will begin this summer, an exact date has not yet been set.
