A rural Washington farming family is being honored with an award this week.

The Wergin Good Farm Neighbor Award is being presented to the Brenneman family Friday. The award is presented by the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship with financial support of the Coalition to Support Iowa’s Farmers and recognizes livestock farmers who “go above and beyond as environmental stewards and animal caretakers.” The recognition will be held at the Brenneman Pork offices. Brenneman Pork is a family farm operation that was established in 1980 by Rob and Char Brenneman.
