Washington’s downtown will turn into a golf course this Friday, well minigolf course that is.

Main Street Washington is hosting the Main Street Masters: Charity Putt Putt Tournament. Director of Main Street Washington Sarah Grunewaldt says 20 businesses are taking part and she shares the idea for the event came from Main Street board members who had participated in a similar event in the skyways of Des Moines. Each hole is par two. Businesses with storefronts around the square will have their holes in front of their locations, and others will be in Central Park. The community is invited to the Main Street Washington fundraiser. It is $5 to play, bring a putter and ball if you have one or businesses will have some you can use. There will be door prizes awarded.
