A portion of G36 will be closed beginning Monday.

The project had been set to begin Friday morning, but has been delayed until noon Monday. Crews will be working on 220th Street, or G36, from Highway 1 and 92 east to the 12th Street intersection. The road will be closed to thru traffic and the detour will be through Washington. The Washington County Engineer’s Office is reminding the public to use the posted detour, use caution, and allow for additional time to reach your destination. Crews will be patching concrete and grinding the road surface to increase the longevity of the pavement and improve the ride. Cedar Falls Construction will be doing the work on the nearly two miles of road and it is expected to be complete by the end of June.
